If you need to make any changes this can be done up to 48 hours before your appointment.

What happens before a treatment?

You will have a consultation at the very start of your initial treatment to establish any specific needs or requirements, and to gather some information from you. This usually takes just a few minutes, and also gives you time to ask any questions you may still have.

All information is kept private and confidential, and is used to provide you with the highest level of service.

You will then have time and privacy to prepare for your treatment.

What happens during a massage treatment?

For an Holistic massage (including indian head and hot stones treatments) you will be asked to undress to your underwear and lie on the couch with towels covering you. I only uncover the part of the body that I am working on, and will cover it again before moving on to the next area to be treated. You can use the time to relax quietly or chat, the choice is yours. Snoozing is positively encouraged.  You will be given time and privacy to dress after your treatment.

I use massage wax with 100% natural ingredients, you will be given a choice of fragrance for your treatment, unless any contradictions are indicated.

For Myofascial Release it is advisable to wear shorts and a vest top for your treatment to allow for stretches.

All other treatments have no specific dress requirements.

Reiki and Hopi ear candling are usually preformed fully clothed lying on a couch.

If you struggle to lie on a massage couch perhaps because of difficulties with mobility, a chair can be used instead, please do ask about this.

After all treatments it is advisable to drink  water to help speed the elimination of toxins, so please bring a refillable bottle.

How will I feel after a treatment?

It is usual to feel relaxed and rejuvenated immediately following a treatment. This is also a good time to ask your therapist any further questions, and to consider any continuation or follow-up treatments.

Over the 24 hours following a treatment you may experience

Tiredness

Thirst

Vivid dreams

Needing to visit the toilet more frequently

A change in appetite

Mild aching

These are all perfectly normal reactions to a treatment and shouldn't alarm you, but if you have any concerns please contact me.
